The San Francisco 49ers got the win today, that the Bears needed last week, against Detroit. The Bears played poorly in all phases, with a couple notable exceptions. But they were disorganized on the line, and porous on defense. They had a slump before the bye week last year, and came back, but they need to win the next two or the bye week may as well be the final whistle for this team. They have a long stretch of games against mediocre competition. This stretch will decide if they belong in that company, or if they can shake themselves off and get their season back.

The #Bears bandwagon, usually has planty of elbow room. After the #MNF game with Detroit there's plenty of room to stretch out. Nobody in the media believed in the Bears at the beginning of the season, and nobody in the media has had reason to change their mind. But I still believe, at least marginally, that the if the Bears can address their problems the way they did in the 2nd half last year, they can still contend fo a playoff spot. But if they lose tonight? I'd have to say any fixes will be too little, too late. Chris Harris is inactive tonight, so the young guns, Wright and Conte, have really step up.

Welcome back to Soldier Field, Leslie Frazier. We could use a guy like you in the secondary these days.

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I could do with a lot less smoke, explosions, Faith Hill, etc. and a lot more stfu and play football. Ditto celebrations for everything you do on the field.

Adrian Peterson gets 1 yard on the ground, the #Bears use a T.O. on the 2nd play of the game. Not a great sign. A lot of people move around on both sides of the ball, and Perterson goes for 2 more yards. 3rd and 7, and Shiancoe drops a sure 1st down. The Vikings will punt.

9-0 #Bears ! The #Bears pin the #Vikings deep in their own territory. From their 5, with 7:35 left in the 1st. They get 2 on a dump pass to Rudolph, and McNabb is sacked for a safety! Urlacher is their 1st.

The #Bears will receive the free kick, and this is a Chicago team on a mission. The kick is poor, and they'll start from the 44. Forte gets a 1st around end, knocking everybody out of his path. Froe the Minn 47, Cutler hits Clutts, but there's an illegal formation flag. 1stand 15 from the 50. Forte up the gut for 4. Cutler gits Williams, at the 28, and it;s all going right so far. 1st down, he goes end zone for Knox. It's almost picked off on a defelction. 2nd down a delay to Forte gets 1sta nd goal, and horsecollar will get them to the 3 yard line

The #Vikings are back to receive, with 3:39 to go in the 1st. Harvin takes it to the 20. The #Bears D is looking for contrition from their poor season thus far. Adrian Peterson gets 1 yard on 1st. Kyle Rudolph pulls in 1 19 yarder for a 1st down. From the 38, Peterson gets 3 with the backup QB Webb. He leaves after trowing incomplete. 3rd and 7, McNabb hits Percy Harvin over the middle, for the 1st. From the Bears 48, Peterson gets about 2, Harvin gets another 5 or so, ending the quarter, 16-0 Bears
